Barney’s Bride Revealed!
The veil is lifted! Viewers will finally learn the identity of Barney’s future bride when How I Met Your Mother wraps its seventh season tonight. The hourlong finale is book-ended by brief flash-forwards to the wedding day that will reveal if the wife-to-be is current live-in girlfriend/stripper Quinn (Becki Newton). “Quinn is a big part of Barney’s life. We brought in Becki to be a very important character, and that’s her role in the finale,” teases executive producer Craig Thomas, who won’t reveal exactly how far into the future the “I do’s” take place, but says the bride is “attractive,” wears a “helluva dress” and is “either blonde or brunette.”
Joking aside, Thomas reports that Neil Patrick Harris had a strong reaction to Barney’s story line: “Neil said that while reading the finale script, he teared up and it gave him a little chill.” (In fact, one scene – which takes place at the airport – is based on an incident from Harris’ life).

And what about that other wedding? Will fans ever get to meet the titular mother? “A very important romantic figure does emerge in Ted’s life,” promises Thomas. “It’s very high-stakes and suspenseful.” Needless to say, the episode ends with a cliff-hanger. “We may see more than one bride in the finale,” Thomas hints. “We’re going to see a lot more of that wedding in Season 8 – and unfold even more mysteries. The whole series is heading toward that wedding day, and that day is going to be momentous.” – Kate Hahn
